Rangers designate 1B Broussard for assignment (AP)
The Texas Rangers designate first baseman Ben Broussard for assignment Thursday, one of four roster moves by the team. Broussard, a seven-year veteran, was the Rangers’ Opening Day starter at first. Before their game with the Mariners, the Rangers activated left-hander Kason Gabbard from the disabled list to start the game.
