Former Tigers, Cards pitcher Maroth to K.C.
Pitcher Mike Maroth agreed to a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals on Friday.
The left-hander is 50-67 with a 5.05 ERA in 161 games over a six-year career with Detroit and St. Louis. Kansas City invited him to spring training.

Yankees finalize deals with Ensberg, Woodward (AP)
Free-agent infielders Morgan Ensberg and Chris Woodward finalized minor league contracts with the New York Yankees on Friday. Ensberg, who will compete for time at first base, would get a $1.75 million, one-year contract if added to the 40-man roster and would have a chance to earn $2.25 million more in performance bonuses.
