Texas Rangers release left-handed reliever Bill White (AP)
The Texas Rangers released left-handed reliever Bill White on Wednesday. The 29-year-old White was 2-0 with a 4.82 ERA in nine games for the Rangers last year. He spent most of the season with Double-A Frisco. White signed a minor league contract with the Rangers in March after getting released by Washington.

Clemens hearing postponed by House committee (AP)
The congressional hearing involving Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte and former trainer Brian McNamee was rescheduled Wednesday until Feb. 13 so lawmakers can gather evidence and coordinate their investigation with the Justice Department.

The congressional hearing involving Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte and former trainer Brian McNamee was postponed Wednesday, The Associated Press learned. The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform was informing witnesses that the Jan. 16 session will be pushed back, a lawyer involved in the hearing told the AP.

Reliever Brian Shouse and Brewers agree to $2M, 1-year deal (AP)
Reliever Brian Shouse and the Milwaukee Brewers agreed Wednesday to a $2 million, one-year contract. Shouse, who had been eligible for salary arbitration, can make an addition $200,000 in performance bonuses. Shouse was 1-1 with a 3.02 ERA and one save in a career-high 73 relief appearances last year.
