Rockies agree to 1-year deals with RHP Kip Wells and LHP Mark Redman (AP)
The NL champion Colorado Rockies added two pitchers on Wednesday, agreeing to one-year contracts with right-hander Kip Wells and lefty Mark Redman. Barrett, Padres agree to $3.5 million, 1-year deal to avoid arbitration (AP)
Catcher Michael Barrett and the San Diego Padres have agreed to a $3.5 million, one-year contract that avoided salary arbitration. Barrett can make another $750,000 in performance bonuses. He joined the Padres in a trade with the Chicago Cubs in June, became a free agent, then accepted San Diego’s offer of arbitration.
