Tigers’ Polanco leaves game with oblique injury
Detroit Tigers second baseman Placido Polanco left Saturday’s game against Cleveland after the sixth inning because of a muscle spasm in his oblique and is day-to-day.
Polanco went from sprinting to stopping awkwardly when third base coach Gene Lamont signaled for him to stop after Gary Sheffield’s single. Polanco then scored on Magglio Ordonez’s sacrifice fly.

Dodgers reminded to seek legal counsel if approached by steroids investigators (AP)
Dodgers player representative Mark Hendrickson passed out copies of a union memo reminding his teammates to seek legal counsel if approached by investigators looking into steroids in baseball. Hendrickson passed out the memos Friday. “It wasn’t anything big,” Dodgers reliever Rudy Seanez said Saturday.
