    Royals manager Buddy Bell has knee surgery

    Kansas City Royals manager Buddy Bell showed up for his pregame news conference Tuesday walking without crutches a day after having arthroscopic knee surgery.
    Dr. Steve Joyce, the team physician, performed the operation on Bell’s right knee Monday.
    “I’m not going to make any big moves, but I’m fine,” Bell said before Tuesday night’s game against Cleveland.

    Pirates ready to spend more prospecting for Dominican talent (AP)

    The Pittsburgh Pirates are considering building a new training academy in the Dominican Republic in an effort to attract more of the country’s top prospects.
