Florida Marlins: Roster report
The Marlins got a big spring from 3B Miguel Cabrera and from their starting pitchers, but they lost RHP Josh Johnson to injury while RF Jeremy Hermida and 2B Dan Uggla struggled horribly. They also led all teams in errors through March 22.

Embattled Young earns Nationals’ first-base job; Wood coughs up lead (AP)
Dmitri Young has a big league job again. Kerry Wood is no sure thing. After a tumultuous 2006 marked by off-the-field problems, Young found out Sunday he’ll be the starting first baseman for the Washington Nationals on opening day because his chief remaining competition, Travis Lee, asked to be released.

With Colorado’s rotation already locked into place, Rockies pitcher Brian Lawrence knows he won’t begin the season as one of the team’s five starters.
