Brewers sign RHP Capellan, 4 others (AP)
The Milwaukee Brewers signed right-hander Jose Capellan to a one-year contract, the team announced Wednesday. Capellan was 4-2 with a 4.40 ERA in 61 appearances with the Brewers last season. Milwaukee also signed outfielder Drew Anderson, second baseman Hernan Iribarren, right-hander Mike Jones and left-hander Manny Parra.

Cubs, Prior reach $3,575,000, 1-year agreement (AP)
Right-hander Mark Prior and the Chicago Cubs agreed on a one-year deal Wednesday and avoided salary arbitration. Prior will get $3,575,000 and would earn an additional $150,000 each for making 27 and 30 starts. Once considered a Cubs’ ace of the future, Prior has won just 18 games the past three seasons while battling injuries.
