Twins face fiscal issues in near future

Davis, Diamondbacks agree to 3-year deal (AP)
The Arizona Diamondbacks and pitcher Doug Davis agreed to a three-year contract Thursday, avoiding arbitration. Davis was acquired in a November trade that sent catcher Johnny Estrada to Milwaukee. The left-hander went 11-11 with a 4.91 ERA in 34 starts for the Brewers last season, tossing 203 1-3 innings.

The Cleveland Indians and reliever Jason Davis avoided salary arbitration Thursday, agreeing to a $670,000, one-year contract.
Davis was 3-2 with a 3.74 ERA and one save in 39 games last season, when he earned $341,700. He asked for $760,000 in arbitration this week and was offered $600,000 by the Indians.
