Rockies agree to $4 million, 2-year contract with Carroll (AP)
Infielder Jamey Carroll and the Colorado Rockies reached a preliminary agreement Wednesday on a $4 million, two-year contract. Carroll must pass a physical to finalize the agreement, which includes a club option for 2009. The 32-year-old hit .300 with five homers, 36 RBIs and 84 runs in 136 games for Colorado last year.
