Previewing Saturday’s division series action
Down 2-0 to the Mets, the Dodgers face elimination Saturday in Game 3 in Los Angeles. Likewise, the Yankees will be fighting for their playoff lives, down 2-1 to Detroit. MLB on FOX will televise both contests. Kevin Kennedy, who will be in the FOX studio, previews this weekend’s action.

Buck O’Neil, Negro League baseball great, dies at 94 (AP)
Buck O’Neil, the goodwill ambassador for the Negro Leagues who fell one vote shy of the Hall of Fame, died Friday night. He was 94. Rogers shuts down Yanks; Tigers win Game 3
The Detroit Tigers didn’t waste this homecoming, and Kenny Rogers made every pitch count.
In a ballpark normally locked up by October, the Tigers got 7 2-3 shutout innings from Rogers and outplayed New York in a 6-0 victory, pushing Detroit within one win of shocking the Yankees into an early winter.

Beane, A’s get some vindication with sweep
